About

My name is Julia Golias and I am currently studying Wildlife and Conservation Biology at the wonderful Ohio University. This blog was started for my writing class; we’ll see where this goes.

The purpose of this page is to educate the public about the importance of the wildlife that lives right in our backyard (in this case, Ohio). I will post about things from environmental issues, facts about Ohio plants and animals, places to enjoy outdoor activities, and the impacts humans have on the environment.

I have always loved animals, and I find them generally more enjoyable than most humans (there are a few exceptions..). Spending most of my childhood summers camping and being outdoors has greatly influenced what I want to do with my life. As of right now, I don’t have  a clear idea on what career I want, but I know I would absolutely hate to have a job where I’m stuck behind a desk. Here’s to hoping this blog will give me some direction and that I figure it out before I graduate!
